Card Game WAR
for Kids
The card game WAR is a favorite game for many kids. The rules are easy, and any child who understands numbers value can play the game. Try to collect all of your opponents cards.
Number of Players: 2 players
Age Range: 5 years and older
Materials: one standard deck of cards
How to Play:
- The goal of this game is to collect all the cards.
- The cards are dealt to the players face down. Neither player should look at his cards.
- Then both players at the same time turn over the first card of their pile and put them next to each other in the center. The card with the highest ranking wins. Aces are the highest in this game. The player who turned over the highest ranking card can pick up the two cards and put them, face down under his pile of cards.
- Then the players continue to turn the next card. If the two cards are the same value, the players have to go to war. They have to put two more cards face down on top of the open cards and then one card face up. The higher ranking card wins the war and that player can pick up all the cards. If the cards are the same value again, it’s called a double war and the players have to put again two cards face down and one card face up to see who wins.
- The winner of the game is the one who gets all the cards in the deck or when his opponent runs out of cards during a war.
